OVERVIEW :

 

Wilderness Inner Mustang Trek is one of the most popular destinations in Nepal Himalaya. Wilderness Inner Mustang trek route goes across desert landscape, barren ridges, deep canyons, eroded cliffs and moraine valleys. The trail is behind the Himalayas as rain shadow zone so we can have nice mountain views too. In Upper part of trekking trails there are mysterious sky caves, castles & sites which provide us great experience of ancient culture, tradition and religion of Himalaya. The excursion tour and Camping trip around Lo-mangtang and around provides unique spirit. This trek is combination of nature, culture, unique tradition and history of Mustang Region.
According to history and Locals from Lho Kingdom (Upper Mustang) , This area has four re-treat complexes which are now as meditation caves or re-treat centers as Ganden ling, Puntsog Ling , Ritse ling and Konchok ling in Inner Mustang, among them some are in good condition and restored as monasteries, some of these retreat sites (caves) has only significant sign inside due to soil erosion, Those places are dated more than 500 years, Puntsog ling is the most damaged externally by climate change and human activities. Konchok Ling cave is on steep part and need rope to climb.
At first part of program till Lo-mangtang we use jeep drive to different destinations as well as use guest house for meal and accommodation, after Lo-manthang we arrange organize tented camp with cook and helpers. This programs covers many spiritual destinations as Mentsi Lhakhang, Ramchung Cave, Ghar Gompa or Lo Gekar Monastery, hundreds of sky caves, Ketcher Dzong, Namgyal Monastery, Nyaphu Gompa, Gharphu Gompa, Nyando, Thinegga, Kimaling, Bharcha, Konchok Ling cave,Ritseling cave, Niphu, Kimbu Gompa,Samdzong, Makhchung, Chudzong Gompa, Amka, Luri Gompa, Muktinath, Jharkot Monastery, Kagbeni Monastery etc.

ITINERARY:

Arrive Kathmandu, Transfer to hotel and program briefing O/N Hotel

After breakfast Kathmandu sightseeing includes Boudhanath stupa, Pashupatinath Temple, Swyambhunath stupa and Kathmandu Durbar square O/N Hotel

After breakfast drive to domestic airport and take flight to Pokhara, afternoon sightseeing tour of Pokhara city, evening walk around fewa lake O/N Hotel

Take early morning flight to Jomsom then drive to Kagbeni, Stop at Tangbe to photograph ruins and chortens, on the way visit Mentsi Lhakhang at chhuksang after lunch drive to Chele O/N Guest house

After Breakfast Drive to Syangbochen and visit Ramchung Cave( Chimsi Cave) where we can get Image of Holy Mt. Kailash inside the caveon the way in clear weather we can see great view of Tilicho Peak, Yakawa Kang and Damodar peak. Trek up to syanbochen , after lunch drive to Ghame via Giling village / O/N Guest house

After breakfast drive to Dhakmar where we can see many sky caves at the hill, after drive to Ghar Gompa which is known as Lo Gekar Monastery is oldest monastery in Mustang, it is believed that it was built by Guru Rinpoche on 8th century. This monastery has spiritual relationship with Samye monastery in Tibet, Samye monastery was built after Ghar gompa completed in Mustang. Lo Gekar or Ghar gompa belongs with Nyingma sect of Buddhism. Late afternoon drive to Tsarang O/N Guest House

Morning explore Tsarang village which is second largest village in Upper mustang. Charange village also have Monasteries Including huge white dzong and red Gompa and old palace, after lunch trek to Lo-mangthang which is pleasant walk( 3 Hrs) with mani walls on the way. O/N Guest hosue

After breakfast we explore the surrounding areas. Visit Ketcher Dzong, Namgyal Gompa and around. After lunch visit the Tall Champa Lakhang “God house” the red Thugchen Gompa, Chyodi Gompa and the Entrance Hall which are the main attraction of Lo-Mangthang. O/N Guest house

Breakfast at Guest house after drive to Nyando visit monasteries and visit beautiful Thinegga village after lunch visit Kimaling, It is well known as King,s fort or Lo-mangthang fort O/N Guest house

After Breakfast visit monasteries around Lo-mangthang than trek to Bharcha takes around 2:30 hrs, en route visit chortens and ruins. O/N Tented Camp

After Breakfast trek to Konchok Ling cave takes 6 hrs, it was one important ancient re-treat center before, on the way enjoy beautiful view of landscape with chortens, ruins, landscape and caves. Konchok ling cave is on steep part and need rope to climb up there O/N Tented camp

Breakfast at camp, start trek to Niphu takes around 1 hrs after tour around trek to Ritseling Cave takes around 3 hrs. O/N Tented camp near cave

Breakfast at camp, start trek to Kharka takes 7 hrs, visit sites of Kimbu Gompa which was destroyed on Khampa revolution period, evening visit Samdzong O/N Tented camp

It is beautiful trekking trail, after breakfast trek to Makhchung on the way enjoy beautiful landscape, Mountain View and caves O/N river camp

After breakfast trek to Chodzong via riverside walking, we need to cross river many times on this day. O/N Tented camp

Explore Chudzong Gompa which is situated at top of hill, it is colorful monastery having great view. Afternoon we can have self meditation and re-treat. O/N Tented camp

After breakfast trek to Amka takes around 7 hours, this day trekking trails is mostly uphill and cross there high passes. O/N Tented camp

Breakfast at Guest house, trek to beautiful village Ghara takes around 3 hours, it is relax walking, Visit Village at Evening O/N Guest house or home stay

Early morning trek to Luri Gompa which is at top of hill, explore inside the cave monastery than trek to Dhey where we put our tented camp. O/N at camp

After breakfast at camp, trek to Beautiful village Tangee via crossing Sertang La, Tangee is situated below the hill on river bank. This village is decorated with many chortens and Mani wall. O/N Guest house

Breakfast at Guest house, trek start uphill to pass than trek on beautiful landscape with beautiful Mountain View. O/N tented camp at Pha

Breakfast at camp, trek to chhuksang takes around takes 6 hours, last part of trek is steep down to Kaligandaki valley O/N Guest House

After breakfast drive to Muktinath, explore monasteries and temple, trek down to Jharkot and visit Jharkot monastery. After explore Kag Chode Thupten Samphel Ling Monastery -Kagbeni monastery then drive to Jomsom O/N Guest house

Fly to Pokhara early morning, afternoon sightseeing tour around Pokhara city O/N Hotel

After breakfast transfer to Airport and fly back to Kathmandu. Transfer to hotel. afternoon freeday.

After breakfast on the time of flight departure transfer to Airport for home.
