Tibet Trekking: Tibet, ‘Shangri La’, ‘the Rooftop of the World’ – locked away in its Himalayan fortress, has long exercised asiren’s hold on the imagination of the West. Occupying an area of 2.5 million square kilometers, Tibet, the autonomous region of China, lies in central Asia. The earth’s highest mountains, a vast arid plateau and great river valleys makeup the physical home land of Tibetans.

Tibet is divided into three major parts, the east, north and south. The eastern part is forest region, occupying approximately one-fourth of the land where virgin forests run The entire breadth and length of this part. The northern part is open grassland, where nomads and yak and sheep dwell here. This part occupies approximately half of Tibet. The southern and central part is agricultural region, occupying about one-fourth of Tibet’s land area with all major Tibetan cities and towns such as Lhasa, Shigatse, Gyantse and Tsetang are located which is considered the cultural center of Tibet. The region is administratively divided into one municipality and six prefectures. The municipality is Lhasa, while the six prefectures are Shigatse, Ngari, Lhaoka, Chamdo, Nakchu and Nyingtri (kongpo). The People’s Government of the Tibet Autonomous Region exercises the highest administrative authority in Tibet. The land on the roof of the world is a fascinating land with rich cultural heritage which can be termed as a living museum.

Mountaineering in Tibet

Fitness and Technical Experience
The mountaineering of above 8,000 M needs some technical experience of rock climbing, Ice climbing,knowledge of high altitude normal climbing & experience of Alpine PD+/ADroutes. It needs previous experience of trekking peaks to gain experience for higher peaks. We suggest particular trekking peak expedition to make successful summit of Higher Mountain which depends up on experience & scale of technical part. The trekking peaks like Island peak, Lobuche peak in Everest Region will provide you experience to climb Mt. Amadablam & finally to summit of Mt. Everest.

Weather Condition in Himalaya
The condition of weather in Himalayas Range depends up on arrival of monsoon. Mountain expeditions are suggested on the dry season (April – May) for all higher mountains in Nepal & Tibet, the next season (October – November) comes as semi season for Mountaineering in this region. On the period of Expedition the night & day temperature become very cold with wind chill & temperature come down possibly as low as minus 20 degree centigrade so you must prepare the equipments & clothing accordingly. We suggest to bring very warm sleeping bag (-30c), an expedition weight down jacket and good quality down mitts.

Meal
We provide hygienic foods for all trekking & Expedition teams which stimulate your appetite despite frequent altitude induced loss of appetite ,Breakfast includes porridge and cereal followed by eggs (fried, boiled poached or omelettes) and either bread or chapattis with jam, honey, peanut butter etc. Lunch starts with juice and may include chips, rice, lentils, vegetables, salad, sandwiches, beans, tinned fish and tinned meat. Dessert is usually fresh/tinned fruit and tea. The evening meal always starts with soup (often with a healthy dose of garlic to aid acclimatization) accompanied by poppadoms, popcorn or prawn crackers. The main meal varies from local style – Dal Bhat (rice and lentils with an onion and vegetable sauce), Yak stew, momos etc. to western style – yak burgers,chips, pasta, pizza & Desserts are equally appealing and include apple pie,cake, custard etc. On the period of Expedition (Climbing period) we use dehydrated meals supplemented by chocolate, muesli bars, cheese, nuts, salami,etc

Staffs and Tipping
We provide you highly experience climbing guides with government license for mountaineering, skillful high altitude cook with helpers, assistance sherpas to settle camps, Nepali Mountain group Leader (Depends up on group size), Liaison officer (Government) & Essential porters, yaks or pony as per program. All the staffs will be well equipped & has insurance from local insurance company. We suggest our group to handover TIPS & BONUS for our staffs after the trip. The bonus comes as the name “Summit Bonus” which is only for your climbing guides. Tips are for your other crew member of Expedition including cook, assistance Sherpa& porters.

Transportation
We provide all private transportation in Kathmandu which depends up on the group size but if in case you want to use transportation in mountain rough road, it is not possible to arrange private transportation but we can arrange reserve local transportation as per program.

Government Formalities
Once you confirm the mountain expedition in Nepal or Tibet, you need to send us your passport copies, Passport sized photo with agreement latter & advance payment. We also need full insurance document which you must take form your country. We proceed permits for Mountaineering when we receive all documents from you.
