Shrines of Ganesh Himal Trek: Ganesh or Ganapati Bappa is most famous god in Hinduism renowned as elephant headed god. Hindus always start all cultural and spiritual functions with the worship of Ganapati bappa “Ganesh” at first than other god and goddess. Ganapati bappa or Ganesh is one of the most famous god in Nepal worshipped by both Shaiva and vaishnav followers and Kathmandu is the center for all spiritual activities since many centuries. Ganesh, the god of luck is believed as son of lord shiva and goddess parvati signifies the shrew as vehicle and likes offerings of food. Ganesh or ganapati bappa has hundreds of shrines in nepal including four major shrines in Kathmandu. The four shrines of Ganesh or Ganapati Bappa in Kathmandu is known as Binayaks as Chandra Binayak in Chabahil with small ganesh is enshrined amidst rich brass work and worshipped to cure diseases and external bodily injuries. Surya Binayak is halfway up the foothills south of bhaktapur and considered able to give the power of speech to young children who are unable to talk or slow to talk. Karya Binayak is on south of Kathmandu valley between two villages Bungmati and Khokana. It is beautiful ganesh shrine with an elephant shaped stone as ganesh and devotees worship Karya Binayak to complete difficult works. Jal Binayak is situated just behind the Chovar. The main shrine of Jal binayak is massive rock covered with metal sheet. Devotees apparently built the temple to shelter this object of devotion. Devotees seek and prey for physical and moral strength to the ganesh at jal Binayak.
Apart from these major Binayaks there are other hundreds of shrines of Ganesh or Binayak around Kathmandu as Siddhivinayak, Kamal Binayak, Maru Binayak etc.Spiritually there is one holy mountain in Himalaya which represents Ganesh or Ganapati baba lies on mid- Himalaya zone, North West from Kathmandu. Trekkers make this trek as adventure as Ganesh Himal trek, it is also one of the most spiritual outdoor adventure which provides experience of Nature, Culture, mountain view with High “ Spirit” with self mediation and re-treat so now it become spiritual trekking in Himalaya. According to Hindu methodology this region is also belongs to god kuber and he stored all his property in this part so this trek is also known as ruby valley trek because it has large scale valuable mines for ruby and other minerals. The highest peak of this region is Ganesh I (7,422 m (24350 ft) and it is also called Yangri Himal. There are three peaks which carried height more than 7000m and fourteen other peaks which holding more than 6000 m. The name of Ganesh Himal come through elephant headed Hindu god, son of Shiva and Parvati. Normally, South face of Ganesh 5 looks like an elephant with point that is significant of an elephant’s trunk. The trekking trail leads to High Tsum Valley on northern gorkha, offers the nice view of Buddha himal, Manasalu Himal (Brother of Holy Mt. Kailash) and more.
