OVERVIEW :
Kalinchowk Spiritual Trek is short and easy assessable trekking destination from Kathmandu with great views of Eastern and Mid Himalaya ranges. The wilderness camps provides the experience of local culture and vast diversity of nature Kalinchowk spiritual trek starts from Kharidhunga – the extended Khari mine of Nepal lies on the Highway to Dolakha from Kathmandu. The trails follow the green hills with variant vegetation, panoramic views, Green hills and spiritual sites. Kalinchowk Temple is situated on elevation 3780 M so have great views of mountains and Kathmandu valley in evening. This temple is one of the most important and famous Bhagawati temple in Nepal situated on top of Hill. The two natural springs Sundhara and Tama originate from Kalinchowk. These springs are the main sources of the two major rivers Sunkoshi and Tamakoshi.The mail temple of Kali and Kunda lies at the Hilltop with statues of Ganesh and Goddess Bhagwati and tridents are placed around. Kalinchowk Bagawati is taken as goddess of the wish fulfiller so thousands of Pilgrims visit and make spiritual hike up there on festivals.
We can see Famous “Lapchi Monastery” which is near to Tibet border from place called Deurali. Deurali it salf has one Nunnery monastery which is oldest nun monastery in this region. The trek further extends to Dolakha where we can have sightseeing tour of Dolakha Bhimsen which is situated at Dolakha district east of charikot Bazar; it is one of the oldest temples at this place and most spiritual for all Hindus. According to the Hindu mythology bhimsen is the one of the brother of Pandava, during their 12 years exile they spent a year in dolakha. Newari people regarded the Bhimeshwor as a sup-rim god. This temple comes on the way of Mt. Gaurishankar trail.
Note: The trek can be extended to river camps on the bank of Tamakoshi River after Dolakha for two nights as Deurali – Dolakha – Nagdaha- Nayapul. This extension provides the cultural tour and village trekking in Dolakha district.
