Larkya Pass Trek
Manaslu Trek lies between Annapurna Range in west & Ganesh-Langtang range in east situated on northern part of Gorkha district near to Tibet border. Mt. Manasalu 8163 m is 8th highest mountain peak in the world. The history of trekking & Expedition of this mountain has started when Japanese Expedition climbed Mt. Manasalu in 1956. Manaslu Trek is officially open on 1991 for trekkers. The region is rich on flora, fauna & culture with different experience of low to high altitude. Naturally this region has waterfalls, lakes, beautiful ethnic villages, beautiful Mountain views with green hills & landscape. The region has various Monasteries, Mani walls, Chortens and many other religious landmarks temples & more. The Manaslu Trekking Route follows the classic trading route along Budhi Gandaki River. Upper part of Manasalu region dominated by the population of Tibetan origin is divided into two ethnic habitats Nubri & Tsum where as the low land has other ethnic peoples as Gurung, Magar, Newars, Tamang, Brahmins & Chhetris.
The upper part of Manasalu has great experience of secret Buddhist monasteries, Mani walls & Prayer flags, the upper part of trail goes to Larkya Pass 5135m which is major destination to trekkers. We can view Himal Chuli, Manaslu, Buddha Himal and Himlung Himal on the first part of trek in Larkya. After Larkya Pass the route goes to heavily forested valley of marsyangdi river of Annapurna Region. The extension of trek can be made with Nar Phu Valley in Manang or with Throng-La pass, Muktinath and Jomsom.
