OVERVIEW :
Manaslu Expedition: Mt. Manasalu 8,156 is eighth highest mountain in the world is a part of the Mansiri Himal in the Nepal Himalayas. The Name of this mountain comes from the Sanskrit word manias, meaning “intellect” or “soul”. It is the same root word as that for Mansarovar, the holy lake near Mt. Kailash in Tibet. The mountain’s long ridges and valley glaciers offer feasible approaches from all directions, and culminate in a peak that towers steeply above its surrounding landscape, and is a dominant feature when viewed from afar. This is a full service expedition with a western guide-manager offering the best balance of quality and value.
Manaslu Expedition was first climbed in 1956 by T. Imanishi and Gyalzen Norbu (Japanese expedition). The peak was not climbed again until 1971 when a Japanese team made the second ascent. HW Tillman and Jimmy Roberts photographed Manaslu during a trek in 1950. But the first real survey of the peak was made by a Japanese expedition in 1952. Manaslu 2000 A Japanese team made the first serious attempt on the peak from the Budhi Gandaki valley in 1953.
