OVERVIEW :
Makalu Expedition: Mt. Makalu 8,463m Lies between Mt. Everest & Mt. Kanchenjunga at east Nepal. This is the world’s fifth highest mountain in the world. Mt. Makalu consists two different peaks, Kang chung tse or Makalu-II 7,678m lies about 3 km north west of Mt. Makalu, its South East and North Western ridges being most prominent. Rising about 5 km North East of the Mt. Makalu across a broad plateau, and connected to Kang chun g tse by a narrow, 7,200m saddle, is Chomo Lonzo 7,804m. The first summit of this mountain was made by French Expedition on May 15, 1955. Jean Couzy and Lionel Terray of the French expedition team attempted summit of the most graded & technical mountain, after this mountain become very popular for adventurous mountaineering in the Himalaya.
