OVERVIEW :
Lower Dolpo Dho Tarap Trek: Dolpo is one of Himalayan district situated between the Tibetan plateau and the Dhaulagiri Himalayan range, it is most remote area having many opportunities of natural beauty as compare with other region. Nepal Government open this area for trekking on 1989 for some research group after this period this become one of the most popular trekking destination in Nepal. Dolpo Region is reach in Natural & cultural diversity with beautiful alpine lakes, many mountain peaks & Ethnic highlanders having Tibetan culture. The national park (Phoksundo National park) the park sustains an abundance of wild life including Musk Deer, Himalayan Blue Sheep and the legendary elusive Snow Leopard, as well as being home to a fascinating race of Tibetan speaking people. Nepal’s first English subtitled movie on Dolpo Region “The Caravan” or “The Himalaya” was a huge success and was nominated for the Oscar Award in the category of best foreign language film.
Dolpo region is divided geographically in two parts for trekkers, the famous spiritual destination of Himalaya “Shey Gompa” lies on upper Dolpa part for which the trekkers need to cross many high passes & beautiful alpine Lake Phoksundo, Government of Nepal Impose special permit for this area which comes under restricted area. Trekking around Lower Dolpo region do not need special trekking permit also offer different experience of Himalaya with various destinations including Dho – Tarap where peoples feel sprit through the spiritual sites with Experience of culture & nature, then fly back from Juphal to Nepalgunj.
