OVERVIEW :
Annapurna Expedition: Mt. Annapurna 8091m is the tenth highest mountain in the world. In 1950, it became the first 8,000 meter mountain to be successfully climbed. It is located east of a great gorge cut through the Himalaya by the Kali Gandaki River & gorge cut through the Himalaya by the Kali Gandaki River which separates from the Dhaulagiri Massif. It is glaciers on western and northwestern slopes drain into this gorge. Annapurna expedition is seventh highest mountain in the world. Mt. Annapurna expedition 8091m55 was first climbed by a French expedition Maurice Herzog and Luis Lachenal in 1950. There are four summits which is called Annapurna. The main summits Annapurna base camp/Annapurna sanctuary, Annapurna II is above Chame, about 24 km to the east.
