Mustang Trek



Mustang Trek is one of the most famous trek in Nepal which is highlighted with Lo-mangthang (Capital of Lho Kingdom) lies on Mustang district, north western Himalaya of Nepal. It is on Tibetan plateau near to Nepal – Tibet border which is rich on Tibetan culture & ancient Buddhism is different than other part of Himalaya.  Upper mustang opened to foreigners in 1992 with some restricted rule to trek around. It comes under restricted area which costs expansive trekking permit as compare with other trekking regions.

Mustang Trek is one of the most popular spiritual and cultural destinations in Nepal Himalaya. The trekking route goes across desert landscape, barren ridges, deep canyons, eroded cliffs and moraine valleys. The trail is behind the Himalayas Annapurna & Dhaulagiri so we can have nice mountain views too. In Upper part of trekking trails there are mysterious castles & sites which brief you the culture of entire Himalaya. The excursion tour of Lo-Manthang provides spirit with different Buddhist sites including oldest Shakya Monasteries as Ghar Monastery, Narphu monastery, Gharphu Monastery, Chimsi Cave( for both Hindus and Buddhists), Namgyal Monastery, Chosar Cave, Dong Cave, Luri Gompa, Samar Monastery, many more monasteries and Famous spiritual destination Muktinath (For Both Hindus and Buddhists). Day 01: Arrive Kathmandu O/N Hotel

Arrival and Transfer to Hotel O/N Kathmandu

Day 02: Kathmandu city tour O/N Hotel

After Breakfast, sightseeing tour of Hindu and Buddhist spiritual sites around Kathmandu O/N hotel

Day 03: Drive to Pokhara O/N hotel

After Breakfast drive to Pokhara (6 Hours) by private vehicle. Enroute we will see more of countryside of Nepal that offers greeneries, rivers, villages, farms and beautiful mountain sceneries. Afternoon, we reach Pokhara. Pokhara offers magnificent views of Dhaulagiri, Manaslu, Machhapuchhare, five peaks of Annapurna and others. Pokhara is city of lakes and has numerous beautiful lakes. We can explore the most accessible and beautiful, Fewa Lake during the afternoon -enjoy boating too. Explore, relax and dine by tranquil Lake Fewa. You can even do some shopping during evening hours. Overnight in Pokhara. Included meals:B

Day 04: Fly to Jomsom, trek to Kagbeni (2,858m) O/N Guest House

 After an early breakfast transfer to the airport fly to Jomsom, It is 20 Minute flight with views of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri Mountains. Jomsom is headquater of Mustang districts on the bank of Holy Kaligandaki River. It was also Trans-Himalayan salt trade route to Tibet before.  After short rest trek to Kagbeni which takes 3 Hours. This territory become much windy at afternoon so we need special preparation for this too. After short rest at Kagbeni,   visit one of the old shakya monastery and Secret hindu sites Tribeni where Hindus do some rituals all the time, the river from Holy Muktinath and River from famous spiritual lake Damodar Kunda meets at this place. In Kagbeni a major tributory, Kak Khola, coming from Muktinath, meets Mustang Khola, and from there the river is called the Kali Gandaki. Evening

Day 05: Trek to Chele (3,050m) O/N Guest House

After breakfast walk around 5 Hours to Chele village. This trail follows the Kaligandaki River with sandy and windy trails; we will have lunch at Chusang village. After crossing river we climb for 20 minute to reach chele. O/N Guest house/ BLD

Day 06: Chele to Syanbochen (3475m) O/N Guest house

After Breakfast trek to Syanbochen which takes 6-7 hours with crossing Taklam La pass (3,624 m), on clear weather we can see great view of Tilicho Peak, Yakawa Kang and Damodar peak. After pass we reach small village samar where we can have simple lunch, further trek up and down to reach Ramchung Cave( Chimsi Cave) where we can get Image of Holy Mt. Kailash inside the cave. Day 07: Trek to Ghame (3,520m) O/N Guest House

 After breakfast we trek to Ghame takes 6-7 hours. The trails uphill to the Yamda La (3,850m) passing a few teahouses, chortens and local villages which is like Tibetan style of houses with open Varanda. We cross mountain passes, and an avenue of poplar trees and fields of Barley. The climb to Nyi Pass (4,010m) and descend to Ghame village which is one of the historic village on Lo kingdom after Lo-mangthang and Charang. O/N Guest house/BLD

Day 08: Trek to Dakmar (3,500 m) O/N Guest House

After Breakfast trek about 6 Hours to small village Dhakmar after crossing Ghaymi Khola, the trail climbs to a plateau and passes beside a very long Mani wall, a sacred stone wall made by the followers Buddhism.  This is on the shadow of hundreds of Cave which was used for settlement before for locals, Visit caves around O/N Dhakmar/ BLD

Day 09: Trek to Lomanthang (3,700 m) O/N Guest House

 After breakfast climb up to the pass which Nilgiri, Tilicho, Annapurna I and Bhrikuti peak. After pass we trek down to Lo- Valley where the magnificent, historical and spiritual Lo-Mangthang situated. Evening Visit around the village .O/N guest hosue/BLD

Day 10: Explore Lomanthang visit Nyaphu & Gharphu Gompas O/N Guest House

After breakfast trek or drive to Chosar, visit Narphu and Gharphu Monasteries. After visit Dong Cave which is historic cave from Last many centuries. All monasteries around these areas are historic belongs to Tibetan and Nepalese Buddhism, mostly monasteries belongs to Shakya O/ N Lo-Mangthang.

Day 11: Explore Namgyal, Tingkar and hidden valley.O/N Guest House

After breakfast we explore the surrounding areas. Visit Namgyal Gompa and Tingkhar.  Namgyal Monastery is near from Lo-mangtang where as Tingkhar is further North West. After lunch visit the Tall Champa Lakhang "God house" the red Thugchen Gompa, Chyodi Gompa and the Entrance Hall which are the main attraction of Lo-Mangthang. O/N Guest house:BLD

Day 12: Trek to Tsarang (3,500 m) O/N Guest House

After breakfast trek down to Charang village which is second largest village in Upper mustang. This is pleasant walk with mani walls on the way. Charange village also have Monasteries Including huge white dzong and red Gompa and old palace O/N Guest hosue/ BLD

Day 13: Trek to Ghiling (3806 M) O/N Guest House

After Breakfast trek back to Ghiling takes 6-7 hours. O/N Guest hosue/ BLD

Day 14: Trek to Chusang (2,940m) O/N Guest House

After breakfast trek back to Chusang Village takes 6-7 Hours

Day 15: Trek to Muktinath (3800 m) O/N Guest House

After breakfast trek up to Pass from where we can see beautiful views of Mountains and Muktinath valley. After 40 minute down hills we reach to famous Muktinath area (Mukti Ksatra). In Sanskrit Mukti symbolize Salvation or Nirvana and Nath symbolize God. It is believed that pilgrimages should visit this temple after completing four spiritual sites "Chardham" of India .Multipath consists of Buddhist Gompa and the pagoda style temple of Vishnu with 108 waterspouts. Buddhist call this valley the chumig gyatsa and believe that Guru Rimpoche meditated and gained achievement of spiritual knowledge around 12th century.  Muktinath is one of the most spiritual places in Himalaya with different myths, Thousands of Hindus from India and Nepal visit Muktinath after their spiritual tour of other major spiritual tour as chardham and Mt. Day 16: Trek to Jomsom (2,700 m)O/N Hotel

After breakfast Trek or drive back to Jomsom O/N Hotel

Day 17: Fly to Pokhara O/N Hotel

After Breakfast fly back to Pokhara, afternoon Pokhara city tour. Pokhara is natural beauty city having many natural lakes, temples and monasteries. O/N Hotel / BLD

Day 18: Drive to Kathmandu O/N Hotel

After Breakfast drive back to Kathmandu by private vehicle.

Day 19: Free Day at Kathmandu O/N Hotel

Day 20: Departure Transfer to Airport
